Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, and therefore is winged Cupid painted blind
09.15.06 (7:36 am)   [edit]
Well it has been a week, I got offered a job at a school. My only concern in Being there at 7am... Bed at 10 it is, not that I stay up much later than that anyway. I had a great conversation with one of my friends over dinner yesterday, we talked about knowing God's heart. We compared Adam and Jesus and their love for their brides, even before they met them (Adam's being Eve and Jesus' being all of us). To die for someone you don't know amazes me, and I plann to read more. Tonight, if it is bnot raining, I am going mini golfing with a friend. He beat me last time twice, and me being ultra competitive can not lose, so I will beat him this time!!!! If it rains, well I hope he has a back up plan.

09.13.06 (6:27 am)   [edit]
Well SInce there are only 103 days till Christmas, I figure it is time to share a heartwarming Christmas story I found! Old George's Christmas Eve Visitor The old man sat in his gas station on a cold Christmas Eve. He hadn't been anywhere in years since his wife passed away. He had no decorations, no tree, no lights. It was just another day to him. He didn't hate Christmas, just couldn't find a reason to celebrate. There were no children in his life. His wife had gone. He was sitting there looking at the snow that had been falling for the last hour and wondering what it was all about when the door opened and a homeless man stepped through. Instead of throwing the man out, George, Old George as he was known by his customers, told the man to come and sit by the space heater and warm up. "Thank you, but I don't mean to intrude," said the stranger. "I see you're busy. I'll just go" "Not without something hot in your belly," George turned and opened a wide mouth Thermos and handed it to the stranger. "It ain't much, but it's hot and tasty. Stew. Made it myself. When you're done there's coffee and it's fresh." Just at that moment he heard the "ding" of the driveway bell. "Excuse me be right back," George said. There in the driveway was an old 53 Chevy. Steam was rolling out of the front. The driver was panicked. "Mister can you help me!" said the driver with a deep Spanish accent. "My wife is with child and my car is broken." George opened the hood. It was bad. The block looked cracked from the cold; the car was dead. "You ain't going in this thing," George said as he turned away. "But mister. Please help...." The door of the office closed behind George as he went in. George went to the office wall and got the keys to his old truck, and went back outside. He walked around the building and opened the garage, started the truck and drove it around to where the couple was waiting. "Here, take my truck," he said. "She ain't the best thing you ever looked at, but she runs real good." George helped put the woman in the truck and watched as it sped off into the night. George turned and walked back inside the office. "Glad I gave em the truck. Their tires were shot too. That 'ol truck has brand new........" George thought he was talking to the stranger, but the man had gone. The thermos was on the desk, empty with a used coffee cup beside it. "Well, at least he got something in his belly," George thought. George went back outside to see if the old Chevy would start. It cranked slowly, but it started. He pulled it into the garage where the truck had been. He thought he would tinker with it for something to do. Christmas Eve meant no customers. He discovered the the block hadn't cracked, it was just the bottom hose on the radiator. "Well, shoot, I can fix this," he said to himself. So he put a new one on. "Those tires ain't gonna get 'em through the winter either." He took the snow treads off of his wife's old Lincoln. They were like new and he wasn't going to drive the car. As he was working he heard shots being fired. He ran outside and beside a police car an officer lay on the cold ground. Bleeding from the left shoulder, the officer moaned, "Help me." George helped the officer inside as he remembered the training he had received in the Army as a medic. He knew the wound needed attention. "Pressure to stop the bleeding," he thought. The uniform company had been there that morning and had left clean shop towels. He used those and duct tape to bind the wound. "Hey, they say duct tape can fix anythin'," he said, trying to make the policeman feel at ease. "Something for pain," George thought. All he had was the pills he used for his back. "These ought to work." He put some water in a cup and gave the policeman the pills. "You hang in there. I'm going to get you an ambulance." The phone was dead. "Maybe I can get one of your buddies on that there talk box out in your car." He went out only to find that a bullet had gone into the dashboard destroying the two way radio. He went back in to find the policeman sitting up. "Thanks," said the officer. "You could have left me there. The guy that shot me is still in the area." George sat down beside him. "I would never leave an injured man in the Army and I ain't gonna leave you." George pulled back the bandage to check for bleeding. "Looks worse than what it is. Bullet passed right through 'ya. Good thing it missed the important stuff though. I think with time your gonna be right as rain." George got up and poured a cup of coffee. "How do you take it?" he asked. "None for me," said the officer. "Oh, yer gonna drink this. Best in the city. Too bad I ain't got no donuts." The officer laughed and winced at the same time. The front door of the office flew open. In burst a young man with a gun. "Give me all your cash! Do it now!" the young man yelled. His hand was shaking and George could tell that he had never done anything like this before. "That's the guy that shot me!" exclaimed the officer. "Son, why are you doing this?" asked George. "You need to put the cannon away. Somebody else might get hurt." The young man was confused. "Shut up old man, or I'll shoot you, too. Now give me the cash!" The cop was reaching for his gun. "Put that thing away," George said to the cop. "We got one too many in here now." He turned his attention to the young man. "Son, it's Christmas Eve. If you need the money, well then, here. It ain't much but it's all I got. Now put that pee shooter away." George pulled $150 out of his pocket and handed it to the young man, reaching for the barrel of the gun at the same time. The young man released his grip on the gun, fell to his knees and began to cry. "I'm not very good at this am I? All I wanted was to buy something for my wife and son," he went on. "I've lost my job. My rent is due. My car got repossessed last week..." George handed the gun to the cop. "Son, we all get in a bit of squeeze now and then. The road gets hard sometimes, but we make it through the best we can." He got the young man to his feet, and sat him down on a chair across from the cop. "Sometimes we do stupid things." George handed the young man a cup of coffee. "Being stupid is one of the things that makes us human. Comin' in here with a gun ain't the answer. Now sit there and get warm and we'll sort this thing out." The young man had stopped crying. He looked over to the cop. "Sorry I shot you. It just went off. I'm sorry officer." "Shut up and drink your coffee." the cop said. George could hear the sounds of sirens outside. A police car and an ambulance skidded to a halt. Two cops came through the door, guns drawn. "Chuck! You ok?" one of the cops asked the wounded officer. "Not bad for a guy who took a bullet. How did you find me?" "GPS locator in the car. Best thing since sliced bread. Who did this?" the other cop asked as he approached the young man. Chuck answered him, "I don't know. The guy ran off into the dark. Just dropped his gun and ran." George and the young man both looked puzzled at each other. "That guy work here?," the wounded cop continued. "Yep," George said. "Just hired him this morning. Boy lost his job." The paramedics came in and loaded Chuck onto the stretcher. The young man leaned over the wounded cop and whispered, "Why?" Chuck just said, "Merry Christmas boy. And you too, George, and thanks for everything." "Well, looks like you got one doozy of a break there. That ought to solve some of your problems." George went into the back room and came out with a box. He pulled out a ring box. "Here you go. Something for the little woman. I don't think Martha would mind. She said it would come in handy some day." The young man looked inside to see the biggest diamond ring he ever saw. "I can't take this," said the young man. "It means something to you." "And now it means something to you," replied George. "I got my memories. That's all I need." George reached into the box again. An airplane, a car and a truck appeared next. They were toys that the oil company had left for him to sell. "Here's something for that little man of yours." The young man began to cry again as he handed back the $150 that the old man had handed him earlier. "And what are you supposed to buy Christmas dinner with? You keep that too," George said. "Now git home to your family." The young man turned with tears streaming down his face. "I'll be here in the morning for work, if that job offer is still good." "Nope. I'm closed Christmas day," George said. "See ya the day after." George turned around to find that the stranger had returned. "Where'd you come from? I thought you left?" "I have been here. I have always been here," said the stranger. "You say you don't celebrate Christmas. Why?" "Well, after my wife passed away I just couldn't see what all the bother was. Puttin' up a tree and all seemed a waste of a good pine tree. Bakin' cookies like I used to with Martha just wasn't the same by myself and besides I was getting a little chubby." The stranger put his hand on George's shoulder. "But you do celebrate the holiday, George. You gave me food and drink and warmed me when I was cold and hungry. The woman with child will bear a son and he will become a great doctor. The policeman you helped will go on to save 19 people from being killed by terrorists. The young man who tried to rob you will make you a rich man and not take any for himself. That is the spirit of the season and you keep it as good as any man." George was taken aback by all this stranger had said. "And how do you know all this?" asked the old man. "Trust me, George. I have the inside track on this sort of thing. And when your days are done you will be with Martha again." The stranger moved toward the door. "If you will excuse me, George, I have to go now. I have to go home where there is a big celebration planned." George watched as the old leather jacket and the torn pants that the stranger was wearing turned into a white robe. A golden light began to fill the room. "You see, George... it's my birthday. Merry Christmas." George fell to his knees and replied, "Happy Birthday, Lord."

But, for my own part, it was Greek to me
09.11.06 (5:47 am)   [edit]
I am now working at an after school program. Yay for second jobs. But I was asked to interview for a full time position there also. I think I will, but that will be later. So friday I went mini golfing, it was a blast. It took me a while to get into the swing of it (no pun intended,) but when I did, I was good. Well that only lasted one round. And much to my roomated dismay (note: Not to my own dismay) I came home empty handed. Well from that night to this very moment I have a fever, I hate not feeling well, so hopefully this is the last day. Well that is enough rambling so... Adieu Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night till it be morrow.

Cold, Late and Frustrated
09.07.06 (9:46 am)   [edit]
Well I had a wonderful start to my day, but I won't complain. I just finished designing a powerpoint presentation, and I love it. I am currently trying to figure out transportation isseus for the mont of December... Well nothing else is happening I will go home today and maybe sleep till tomorrow (I get home very early)

To be or not to be... Is that really the question?
09.06.06 (11:02 am)   [edit]
Today I am pondering more than just whether I should be or not, I am excited because I found my favorite pair of pants, which I thought I left at my parents. So I get to work and realize that I am abercrombie head to toe, I never plan that, but hey, whatever... I have decided to post the lyrics to my song in a spot where I usually place quotes for everyone to see (because I couldn't find anything else) so I will put them here: Lord You have assigned me, Whatever Your will, I will go. Wherever You take me I know, That You will show me Your unfailing love.\ For You are my God, I will praise You. Your strength will lift me up. So there is that, tomorrow I will tell you the lyrics to my other song. Later...

Knights, princes and other such things
09.05.06 (11:35 am)   [edit]
Well I will start out with a dream I had. I was sitting in a living room in a meeting and some guy walks in, everyone else knows him, but not me. So he goes to sit, and behind him is a guy I was VERY interested in last year. So I run up to him and hug him. I don't let go and I pray that he is never taken from me again. I realize it is a dream, because I slowly start to wake up, but I am still holding on to him. Yeah it was strange. So today I drove to work on flooded streets, I had no problem, but everyone else did, so my 12 minute ride turned into a 30 minute ride. But on the bright side there is a carnival near my house that starts thursday and it is the voulanteer fireman carnival. Have I yet to mention my fascination with attractive fire men? Well in any case I will be there. Yesterday I went to a Rennisance Festival, I had a blast. It is my favorite time period, and there were so many people in costume. I got a discount, because I had my CVS card, which was great. I watched three shows while I was there one was a tight rope walker who walked a tight metal rope above the audience, and another was some randome show, but I also got to see a Midsummer Nights Dream. For those of you who do not know Shakespeare just happens to be one of my favorite authors! That was super exciting!! I was very clumsy all day, and I am quite surprised that I did not fall (till I got home, and did some number on my knee, which is in a lot of pain). Well this is probably my longest blog ever so I am off!

Hurricane Ernesto
09.01.06 (9:04 am)   [edit]
wow people go crazy when weather happens. There were so many accidents this morning and it was only drizzling. Well my parents are inticing me to come back "home". They pulled out all the shots, including Jake. Now that is the one thing that could get me to go home. Well We will see. As for the rest of the week, I was going crazy, I had a momentary, not I had a lenghty lapse of judgement, and still have not fully recovered. But on a lighter note there are some very cute firemen in the area! Signing off!

Wanting what you can't have, but when you can have it it is the last thing you want!!
08.31.06 (7:40 am)   [edit]
Today I am officially searching for a nanny position. Well I guess I will just wait and see what happens there. The high today is 72* but it beats tomorrow which is 65* burrr. Here comes fall. The days are getting shorter and I am getting more tired crazy huh?? I am very excited for the fall! Leaves changing, cool weather it is great. Well I'm off!

Wednesdays
08.30.06 (8:30 am)   [edit]
Well I had quite a bit of work today, unfortunatly I got it all done rather quickly, and managed to do some other stuff as well. Hmmm. Well I am still looking for a part time job and I am having no luck. It will happen. I really never let things bother me I figure everything will work out one way or the other and that there is really nothing I can do but live today. I am currently looking for coaching jobs in the greater DC area, you would think there would be plenty, well not to my knowledge. On a much cooler note... I got to hang out with some new friends on Sunday. We went out for lunch and just chatted, it was a little strange at first, but after a while it was like I had known them for years. Well I don't like to ramble so I will end here! Happy Blogging!!

the trial
08.25.06 (7:54 am)   [edit]
So I have spent most of my morning looking for a very specific one act play. It is called The Trial. It is about the trial of Jesus set in modern day New York, if any one knows where I can find it, let me know. To make matters worse, I just ordered a one act that I thought was it and it was not, well that was a waste of money. Well on to more exciting news... There is a new church in my home town that is looking for a childrens pastor, I am not sure how I would feel working for that church, but I may look into it, also I am contemplating serching for another job, not that I don't love my current job, but it is just not enough hours for me.. And more exciting yet this week I have been spending a lot of time looking at dating, courtship and marriage. Yesterday my friend said I am.... cool with my singleness (the exact words have been changed as to not incriminate the person... no animals men were harmed in the making of this statement. LOL) Well I didn't believe her, and I still don't, but I have come to the conclusion that I am infact just fine being single, I enjoy helping others with there dating issues, and I learn form the mistakes that I see others make. So whqat next... I have no idea, I am not interested in anyone (all of my previous attempts have been thwarted... Stinkin' spiders (J/K my little spider friends)). Well all that said, I may write an article on spiders as they pertain to 21st century women. But more ont hat later.

reading
08.24.06 (9:40 am)   [edit]
Well today I finished listening to Josh Harris' courtship sermons and I highly suggest them, they are very interesting, humorous and enlightening! I have done a lot of reading (for term papers) on Dating, Marriage and Courtship and found his book Boy Meets Girl very informative (actually I am going to read it again, just for fun!!) I also recomend it to everyone. He has other books that I have not read which are: I kissed Dating Goodbye, Not Even a Hint, and Stop Dating the Church. Now I am listening to Eric Ludy's Discipleship sessions they are interesting so far, but I have only listened to 15 min. My favorite Eric and Leslie Ludy book is: When God Writes Your Love Story. That is also a very good book. Well I over wrote today, to I will sign off!

Confident yet kind. Popular yet down to earth. You're a total dream girl.
You've got the total package - no wonder everyone's a little jealous of you.

Courtship
08.23.06 (10:16 am)   [edit]
Acording to a sermon I am listening to by Joshua Harris: How men pursue women in our church is important to our Savior and should be important to us. If it is done poorly, it will bring reproach to the Gospel and it will bring pain to our church members. His sermons are good, I encourage looking them up and listening!

update
08.22.06 (12:34 pm)   [edit]
Well I guess I don't update a lot because I don't have much to say. Here is goes I am working as a secretary at a church, and I really love my job! I need another one though. I am currently, nor have I ever dated anyone. I have watched many movies, my most recent have been Pirates of the carribean 2, Just Like Heaven, Elizabethtown, the perfect man, and Charlie and the chocolate factory. I went to the Montgomery County fair this weekend got to see very large beef cows. The place they were being kept was aweful, I guess I generally see animals in the north, where there is planty of space. I attempted to win a very large animal at a booth, with no luck, and got to see the outside of a "freak show". I did not know that they truly existed. My only regret from the night.... I didn't go on any rides. Well I think that is enough for now so........ Au revoir!!!

Time
05.19.06 (10:30 am)   [edit]
yes it is time to update. It has been a rollercoaster of a year. Lots of jobs, experiences with "friends" and resumes. Well I applied at a church to be their Children's Pastor. I am extremely excited, havent heard anything yet, but it would be an awesome birthday present to be offered a job. So I sit here with 30 min. to spare before the bus will wisk me away to work, talk about boredom.

Drivers... GRRRRRRRRRRR
01.10.06 (10:40 am)   [edit]
SO I now doubt the driving ability in the east. I was in a parking lot with the nose of my car in the space, and relized that i needed to reposition, so I look, start backing yp, and two seconds later come in contact with another car, who had no damage to their car by the way. So they call my insurance company and want money. So now I have to call and talk to my claims dept, for something that was not my fault, and nothing was damaged. How frustrating!

Summer
11.05.05 (6:52 am)   [edit]

I am headed to DC today, and boy is it warm, it is 75*. I just bought a car, and I have to go to the midwest to pick it up, when that will happen, I don't know.

Well just thought I would quickly update!

Whip lash! not fun, I am currently in a neck brace, until further notice. It is quite painful. Although I do recomend the movie War of the Worlds, but it is not the best movie to watch when you are restricted from moving your head!

Hope all is well!

One of my friends has decided that he wants to take me back there (which is only 2 miles from where I am staying) to shop! I will be going to six flags in DC in two weeks and posibly NYC in three weeks!

Well I would love to hear from yall!

05.20.05 (8:56 pm)   [edit]
Yay! Today is my birthday, the big 22, well maybe it is not so big, but oh well. My plans for the day... nothing. I think I will be turning in an application. Well I miss FLorida, didn't think I was ever going to say that. It is cold here, although yesterday, it was not too bad. I also miss my friends, some in particular javascript:emoticon(':win k:')! Well only three months of break and 5,000 dollars to make (AHAHAHAHAH) Yesterday I did get to see my cousin Decon graduate kindergarden (he has very expressive facial movements, sound farmiliar?!?) I also saw the Incredibles, it is very cute! Well time for bed, but not before I finish watching Fiddler on the Roof!
