That Kinda Girl
02.22.05 (2:38 pm) [edit]
That Kinda Girl (DC Talk)
The other night I met a girl And she looked to be so nice I asked her for the digits And she didn't think twice A couple of days later called her up and asked her out She said,"with you?" I said, "with me," And then she said, "without a doubt" I took her to the Garden where I guess they grow the Olives She wore a tighter skirt Than any I had seen in college She said, "I love to smoke and drink While cursing like a sailor" I asked her where she got her mouth And if she had a tailor Finally I walked her to the door to say goodnight She said, "I am an apple, Would you care to take a bite?" Politely I refused and said, "I'm looking for a lady So she slapped me in my face and said, "Boy, you must be crazy" Different from the ones before Different from the ones before, she's that kinda girl Different from the ones before, Cause I know she loves the Lord She's that kinda girl, virtuous in every way The kinda girl that makes you say, "I hope she comes my way"
Well I'm lookin' for a girl who virtuous Cause God laid it on my heart to search for this So I open up the Word to the book of Proverbs The 31st chapter tells me all about her Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain A woman who fears the Lord, she ain't playin' Hear what I'm sayin', cause I'm sayin' it clearly She's the kinda girl I gots to have near me
She's that kinda girl. Different from the ones before Cause I know she loves the Lord She's that kinda girl, virtuous in every way, The kinda girl that makes you say...
Well I'm lookin' into hookin' with a lady And not a girly of the worl'y that's shady But the kinda girl you meet Behind the doors of a church Ya see, God will bring her to me So I don't have to search Too hard I've been scarred by the ones of the past So put an APB out on the one that will last A little longer than a roll in the hay for sure But a bona fide lady's what I'm prayin' for
When I finally meet her, I'll know how to treat her By fulfilling all her needs Love her and respect her, cherish her forever She's the kinda girl for me
She's that kinda girl Different from the ones before, Cause I know she loves the Lord She's that kinda girl, perfect for each other There'll never be another for me She's that kinda girl, virtuous in every way The kinda girl that makes you say "I hope she comes my way"
Heaven help me, hear my plea I know there's on who's perfect for me
When I finally meet her, I'll know how to treat her, By fulfilling all her needs Love her and respect her, cherish her forever She's the kinda girl for me
She' the kinda girl for me, the kinda girl for me She' the kinda girl for me She' the kinda girl for me, the kinda girl for me She' the kinda girl for me, I pray she come's my way
She's that kinda girl Different from the ones before Cause I know she loves the Lord She's that kinda girl, virtuous in every way The kinda girl that makes you say... She's that kinda girl Different from the ones before She's the one that I adore She's that kinda girl, virtuous in every way The kinda girl that makes you say "I hope she comes my way"

It is great here, 77*. I want to go swimming, but I was informed that the lake is not the place to go! Oh well, I will just have to find a pool somewhere. I just finished typing a six page paper on SHakespeare, which was more dificult than it sounds. I now need to have a six to eight page paper done by tuesday, on premarital counseling. This topic is so huge, I am having problems fitting all my ideas together. Well now I am going to watch Indiana Jones! (Erin, bring back any memories?)

Kids are adorable, and sometimes, so funny:
Kids Say The Darndest Things About Love and Marriage
Questions concerning love and wisdom were posed to a group of children (ages 5 to 10). Their responses were amazingly astute, very enlightening, and amusing.
What Is The Proper Age To Get Married? "Eighty-four. Because at that age, you don't have to work anymore, and you can spend all your time loving each other in your bedroom." (Judy, 8) (HMMMMMMM)
"Once I'm done with kindergarten, I'm going to find me a wife." (Tommy, 5) (THIS IS TOO CUTE!!)
What Do Most People Do On A Date? "On the first date, they just tell each other lies, and that usually gets them interested enough to go for a second date." (Mike, 10) (HMMM< IS THERE SOME TROTH IN THIS?)> When Is It Okay To Kiss Someone? "You should never kiss a girl unless you have enough bucks to buy her a big ring and her own VCR, 'cause she will want to have videos of the wedding." (Jim, 10) (AMEN j/k)
"Never kiss in front of other people. It's a big embarrassing thing if anybody sees you. But if nobody sees you, I might be willing to try it with a handsome boy, but just for a few hours." (Kally, 9)
The Great Debate: Is It Better To Be Single Or Married? "It's better for girls to be single, but not for boys. Boys need somebody to clean up after them." (Lynette, 9) (WOW CHILDREN ARE VERY SMART!) "It gives me a headache to think about that stuff. I'm just a kid. I don't need that kind of trouble." (Kenny, 7) (WE SHOULD TAKE THAT APROACH!) Concerning Why Love Happens Between Two People: "No one is sure why it happens, but I heard it has something to do with how you smell. That's why perfume and deodorant are so popular." (Jan, 9)
"I think you're supposed to get shot with an arrow or something, but the rest of it isn't supposed to be so painful." (Harlen, 8) (BOY ARE YOU WRONG!) On What Falling In Love Is Like: "Like an avalanche where you have to run for your life." (Roger, 9) (LOL)
"If falling in love is anything like learning to spell, I don't want to do it. It takes too long a time to learn." (Leo, 7)
On The Role Of Good Looks In Love And Romance: "If you want to be loved by somebody who isn't already in your family, it doesn't hurt to be beautiful." (Jeanne, 8)
"It isn't always just how you look. Look at me. I'm handsome like anything and I haven't got anybody to marry me yet." (Gary,7)
"Beauty is skin deep. But how rich you are can last a long time." (Christine, 9)
Concerning Why Lovers Often Hold Hands: "They want to make sure their rings don't fall off, because they paid good money for them." (David, 8)
Confidential Opinions About Love: "I'm in favor of love as long as it doesn't happen when The Simpsons' are on TV." (Anita, 6)
"Love will find you, even if you are trying to hide from it. I've been trying to hide from it since I was five, but the girls keep finding me." (Bobby, 8)
"I'm not rushing into being in love. I'm finding fourth grade hard enough." (Regina, 10)
Personal Qualities Necessary To Be A Good Lover: "One of you should know how to write a check. Because, even if you have tons of love, there is still going to be a lot of bills."(Ava, 8)
Some Surefire Ways To Make A Person Fall In Love With You: "Tell them that you own a whole bunch of candy stores." (Del, 6)
"Don't do things like have smelly, green sneakers. You might get attention, but attention ain't the same thing as love." (Alonzo, 9)
"One way is to take the girl out to eat. Make sure it's something she likes to eat. French fries usually works for me." (Bart, 9)
How Can You Tell If Two Adults Eating Dinner At A Restaurant Are In Love? "Just see if the man picks up the check. That's how you can tell if he's in love." (John, 9)
"Lovers will just be staring at each other and their food will get cold. Other people care more about the food." (Brad, 8)
"It's love if they order one of those desserts that are on fire. They like to order those because it's just like their hearts are on fire." (Christine, 9)
What Most People Are Thinking When They Say "I Love You": "The person is thinking: Yeah, I really do love him, but I hope he showers at least once a day." (Michelle, 9)
How A Person Learns To Kiss: "You learn it right on the spot, when the gooshy feelings get the best of you." (Doug, 7)
"It might help if you watched soap operas all day." (Carin, 9)
When Is It Okay To Kiss Someone? "It's never okay to kiss a boy. They always slobber all over you.... that's why I stopped doing it." (Jean, 10)
How To Make Love Endure: "Spend most of your time loving instead of going to work." (Tom, 7)
"Don't forget your wife's name . . . that will mess up the love." (Roger, 8) (YEAH, THAT IS VERY IMPOSTANT< ARE YOU TAKING NOTES?)>"Be a good kisser. It might make your wife forget that you never take the trash out." (Randy, 8)
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY y'all

Do not pray for easy lives! Pray to be stronger men. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks. Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle, but you shall be a miracle. Phillips Brooks

I went go-carting yesterday, with my drama team, I feel very blessed to be apart of the group, they are wonderful people. I am currently reading a book called WHEN GOD WRITES YOUR LOVE STORY, by Eric and Leslie Ludy, this book is amazing! Another good thing to read is Tartuffe, by Molier, it is a great play, that really makes you think about how you view, and display Christianity. I am also typing a paper on Pre-marital counseling, so I have been reading a lot of counseling books, marriage books, dating books, and now books on thow to be a husband, and how to be a wife. I have also been enjoying being single, and giving it all to God, but I can't help but see the prospects!

God so loved the world
02.08.05 (4:52 pm) [edit]
Most of the time, I can't believe that I am in Florida, then I see the palm trees. Today was about 80*, but it seemed very dry. It was actually a pretty boring day. In Soul Food, the girls learned a dance (oops, I mean choreographed movement.) I am learning hyms on the piano, and I walked for about one hour. Yeah, real exciting here. So, now I wonder, it it bad to date, just to date, I know the answer to that, but sometimes I just don't want to hear it. Well now I am amusing myself by watching TV bloopers, oh well!
